Tips to getting the right staff

Having the right set of staff to work for you in your shop(s) goes a long way in determining how successful your shop will be. You need to get quality staff that would help grow your business.

1. If you are new to the betting business and do not know how to source for Cashiers, preferably it is advisable to get referrals/recommendations from Agents or Super Agents already in the business.

2. After getting recommendations, send out an application form for them to fill and then follow-up by contacting their reference and previous employer(s) to vouch for them. 3. Schedule an Interview with them and ask them relevant questions pertaining to both the business and their previous experience. We have some recommendations for interview questions, download these from the “Cashier recruitment files”.

4. If the interview process is satisfactory, proceed to give them a guarantor form so they can get someone to vouch for them as guarantor(s). The Cashier guarantor form can also be downloaded from the “Cashier recruitment files”

5. Verify their guarantor information and ensure their guarantor can attest to their behaviour, understands what the job entails and is ready to reimburse for any cash default..

6. Remember that great attitude to work supersedes prior experience! It is better to employ someone with a good attitude to work and trainable than employ someone with prior betting experience that would try to defraud you.

7. Train your Cashiers on all the products and if they have worked with a betting Company prior to joining you, re-train them on our products (do not assume that they know it).

If you are a busy person and would not always be in your shop to monitor activities, then ensure to carry out spot checks on your staff without informing them of your visit. This would help you know how the shop is being managed in your absence.
